Rosa Gray Hamilton

Rosa Gray Hamilton was an important part of life at Pantego High School from the 1930's until the mid-1960's.  Miss Hamilton was called with great love "Rosa Gray" by most or "Rosie" by some.  Rosa Gray was said to be dropped as an infant resulting in a broken back.  Miss hamilton's mother died shortly and Rosa was raised by Mr. & Mrs. Guy Boston.  Rosa was taught to play the piano at an early age.  She received her education at Pantego High School, and was employed by Pantego High School after graduation.  It was thought that she taught typing and other subjects;  worked in the school office; and was responsible for music instruction and all choral work.  She also gave private piano lessons at PHS.  She, over the years, was known for being able to get the best musical ability from all students.  "Rosa Gray" is still remembered by many Pantego High School students.

Be sure and come out and enjoy a Barbeque & Chicken Plate with us on Friday, March 12, 2010, at 11:00 to 1:00pm.  Mark Keyzer will be catering it for us.  This is our annual fund raiser to help us with keeping our doors open.  The painting of the building is not quite complete but it looks just beautiful already.  Come out and see for yourself.  We have some new exhibits that are very teresting also.  Hope to see you there.
